Richard G. Pellegrino, M.D., Ph.D.

President & CEO

Dr. Pellegrino has a M.S. in Cell Biology from Yale University and obtained his M.D. & Ph.D in Neuroscience from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Pellegrino has 46 years of experience in medical research, and 32 years of experience conducting clinical research. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians. Dr. Pellegrino also serves as the Chief of Neurology services at Baptist Health, and currently serves as Neurohospitalist.

Priyantha Wijewardane, M.D.

Internal Medicine

Dr. Wijewardane is a board certified internal medicine physician and has over 6 years-experience conducting clinical research. Dr. Wijewardane graduated from St. Georges University School of Medicine. Dr. Wijewardane has been employed by Baptist Health since 1997.

A note from Dr. Pellegrino,

“I think the last few years have illustrated how important clinical research is. A new virus wreaks havoc worldwide and those in medicine, people like you, were in position to help. EMT’s, paramedics, MA’s, nurses, and other medical professionals helped on the ground and clinical researchers developed new medicines to support their efforts.
